Children's Parliament

Active

Description

Children's Parliament is a Scottish charity working to realise children's human rights through creative and participatory practice with children across Scotland. Founded in 1996 and based in Edinburgh, it works through six programme areas covering child human rights defenders, community, early years and family life, health and wellbeing, professional learning, and schools and learning. Its methods combine creative media made with children, including animated film, with consultation, training and policy work. Between 2022 and 2025 it ran a programme exploring children's rights and artificial intelligence in partnership with the Scottish AI Alliance and the Alan Turing Institute, which produced surveys, online learning and a teaching pack. It has since facilitated a further research project on generative artificial intelligence and children's rights with the Alan Turing Institute.
