The Boswell Trust

Description

The Boswell Trust exists to promote the life and writing of James Boswell and to restore the Boswell family aisle and mausoleum at Auchinleck in East Ayrshire. Its principal activity is the Boswell Book Festival, an annual festival of biography and memoir that has run since 2011, and it is also raising funds to restore the Boswell mausoleum and the old church at Auchinleck. It works with the Landmark Trust, which owns and lets Auchinleck House, to open the house during festival weekends. Boswell's own papers are held at Yale University and are not part of the Trust's holdings.
