The Robert Burns World Federation (RBWF)

Description

The Robert Burns World Federation is a learned society based in Kilmarnock, founded in 1885, which promotes the study of the life and work of Robert Burns. It is the originating body of the Burns Chronicle, published since 1892 and now issued as a peer-reviewed journal by Edinburgh University Press, and it maintains an openly accessible digitised back run of the Chronicle covering 1892 to 2008. The Federation keeps its own archive and includes a named archivist role on its board. It runs an annual conference and national schools competitions for young people in verse speaking, singing, instrumental performance and bagpiping, and reports a membership network of over 250 affiliated clubs and societies in Scotland and overseas.
