Description

Lèirsinn Research Centre, in Gaelic Ionad Rannsachaidh Lèirsinn, was a research centre based at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, the Gaelic college on the Isle of Skye and an academic partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands. Established in 1992, it specialised in research within the Highlands, Islands and Gaelic communities of Scotland, and served as the college's research base.

Its longest-running work was a weekly Gaelic television audience panel, operating from 1993, which drew on a panel of around 350 members keeping viewing diaries and supplied its findings to the BBC and MG Alba. Alongside the audience research it worked on Gaelic media, community research and place-names.
