UWS Creative Computing Technologies (CCT) Research Group
ActiveDescription
UWS Creative Computing Technologies (CCT) is a research group at the University of the West of Scotland in Paisley, working across computer animation arts, music technology, games and immersive media. It sits within the university's AVCN Research Institute and is organised around six named areas of expertise, two of which, Computer Animation Arts and Music Technology, carry their own programme leads.
A recurring strand of its work applies 3D capture, real-time rendering and interactive media to cultural heritage, including a continuing Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the museum and gallery platform Smartify that runs to 2027, and earlier collaboration with the Scottish Crannog Centre. The group also supervises doctoral research on cultural heritage topics and publishes on virtual tours and accessibility in web-based 3D.
