Urban Design Studies Unit (UDSU)

Description

The Urban Design Studies Unit (UDSU) is a research unit in the Department of Architecture at the University of Strathclyde, established in 1988. It studies urban form and how it changes over time, combining urban design and architectural research with urban morphology, morphometrics and spatial data analysis, and it develops the open-source software library momepy for measuring urban form.

The unit underpins the University's MSc in Urban Design and supervises doctoral research in urban design and morphology. It is one of four standing research themes in the Department of Architecture, where it also appears under the heading Urban Design and Analytics.
