Description

Newspeak House, The London College of Political Technology, is an independent residential college in Bethnal Green, east London, founded in 2015 to study and support emerging communities of practice across civil society and the public sector under the banner of political technology. It runs a one-year course, the Introduction to Political Technology, whose graduates become lifelong Fellows, and it hosts a dense calendar of civic-technology events and meetups and a weekly community dinner at its campus. Its concerns span civic and campaign technology, digital democracy and public-sector digital infrastructure, data governance, collective intelligence, sociotechnical systems and service design in government. The college is entirely independent, sustaining itself through member subscriptions and donations rather than institutional funding, and it offers need-based scholarships for participants in its residential programme.
