GLAM Data Science Network
ActiveDescription
The GLAM Data Science Network is a UK community of practice for people working in galleries, libraries, archives and museums who want to build confidence and skills in statistics and data science. It brings together librarians, curators, archivists, researchers and software engineers to promote the ethical and informed use of data and open science practice in the cultural heritage sector. Its activities have included regular online meetings, a mailing list and chat channels, drawing on training approaches such as those of The Carpentries and Programming Historian. It was established in 2020 through a Software Sustainability Institute Fellowship based at the British Library, and held its first meeting in May 2021.
