Description

DYSPLA is a neurodivergent-led, award-winning arts community interest company based in Enfield, north London, that produces and develops the work of neurodivergent storymakers. It makes art and conducts research into what it calls the Neurodivergent Aesthetic, working across digital media, moving image, extended reality, photography, poetry, performance and installation. Its SurgeryScript development platform has provided script development support to over 220 writers and worked directly with over 700 artists since 2010, and its Storymakers Residency, which Arts Council England has funded, helps neurodivergent writers complete finished scripts. It also runs a moving image festival, monthly peer gatherings for neurodivergent creatives, an internship scheme in film and art production, a podcast and an online museum publication, and has presented its research at a university neurodiversity studies conference and in a public lecture at a national museum. It was incorporated as a community interest company in 2013, building on script development work delivered since 2010.
