Description

Then Try This is a non-profit research, design and development studio, founded in 2014 and formerly known as FoAM Kernow, based in Constantine near Falmouth in Cornwall and part of the international FoAM network. It works mainly on cultural, environmental and social projects in collaboration with universities, museums, charities and public bodies, developing citizen-science tools, community technology and creative-computing work, with a commitment to free and open source technology and open access to knowledge. Its arts and humanities work spans live coding, algorithmic pattern, heritage craft, illustration and design, and it develops widely used open-source creative tools including the live-coding environment TidalCycles. It currently hosts the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship Algorithmic Pattern, which researches the connections between heritage and contemporary algorithmic arts.
