Cybersalon
ActiveDescription
Cybersalon is a London-based collective and think tank on networked and digital culture, founded in 1997 out of the Hypermedia Research Centre at the University of Westminster and the Cyberia cybercafe. It runs monthly events, talks and workshops examining the effects of the digital revolution on industry and society, bringing together technologists, activists, policymakers, academics and artists. Its work spans digital rights and a Digital Bill of Rights campaign, surveillance and privacy, artificial intelligence, digital identity and digital democracy, and many of its members and speakers produce research in the field of the digital humanities. Cybersalon is the trading name of Digital Liberties Limited and is currently based at NewSpeak House in Shoreditch.
