Description

MadLab (Manchester Digital Laboratory) is a Manchester-based community interest company and grassroots innovation organisation, established in 2009, that combines work with new and emerging technologies and participatory design methods. It delivers community digital-skills, maker, arts-and-technology and placemaking programmes across Greater Manchester and internationally, working with schools, libraries, museums and community venues. Its projects range from digital-skills training and youth employability schemes to participatory research and cultural regeneration. MadLab has also worked as a research partner on arts and humanities projects, including as a co-investigator on The Congruence Engine, an Arts and Humanities Research Council Towards a National Collection project applying machine learning to industrial-history collections.
