NEoN Digital Arts

Description

NEoN Digital Arts is a Dundee-based charity, established in 2009, that promotes public understanding of digital art and technology while examining the harms that can arise from digital technologies for personal safety, security, mental health and the environment. Beginning as an annual festival, it moved in 2024 towards year-round programming of exhibitions, workshops, talks, commissions and public discussions, providing access to expertise and equipment in an inclusive setting and using free, open-source or low-cost tools. Its work is organised around digital safety, digital detox and digital climate action, with an emphasis on digital inclusion and environmental sustainability. NEoN collaborates with Scottish universities including the University of Dundee, the University of Glasgow, the University of Edinburgh and Abertay University, and is supported through public arts funding.
