UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence and Music (AIM)
ActiveDescription
The UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence and Music (AIM) is a four-year PhD training programme based at Queen Mary University of London, in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. It trains researchers who combine artificial intelligence, machine learning and signal processing with music and audio technology and the creative industries. Its research spans three themes: music understanding and machine listening; intelligent instruments and interfaces; and computational creativity. Doctoral training combines taught modules, researcher development, an industry placement and a PhD research project, delivered in collaboration with a large network of music, audio and technology partners. The centre was funded by UK Research and Innovation for cohorts entering from 2019, with further national and industry-funded studentships in later years.
