ActiveDescription
Studio Ulster is a virtual production studio complex at Belfast Harbour, majority owned and developed by Ulster University in partnership with Belfast Harbour and Northern Ireland Screen. Opened in 2025 with 72 million pounds of investment, part funded through the Belfast Region City Deal and the UK Government Levelling Up Fund, the 75,000 square foot facility comprises three virtual production stages, a motion capture stage, a 3D and 4D scanning studio, post production suites and a screening room for film, television, gaming, animation and immersive media. It is the home of the CoSTAR Screen Lab, one of five UK laboratories in the Arts and Humanities Research Council's CoSTAR national network for research and development in virtual production, which is led by Ulster University and housed within the complex.
