Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA)
ActiveDescription
Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) is an independent archaeology and built heritage practice with over 50 years of experience, and the only Independent Research Organisation (IRO) in British archaeology. It began in 1973 as the Museum of London's Department of Urban Archaeology and has been an independent charitable company since 2011. MOLA provides archaeological services across guidance and pre-planning, assessment and survey (including desk-based assessment, environmental impact, geomatics, geophysical and aerial survey, and geoarchaeology), excavation and recording, and analysis and archiving (including environmental archaeology, finds analysis, osteoarchaeology, conservation, archives and photography).
Alongside its commercial and consultancy work, MOLA undertakes original research and public engagement, and runs community archaeology programmes including the Thames Discovery Programme and CITiZAN (the Coastal and Intertidal Zone Archaeological Network). It works from offices in London, Northampton, Stansted and Basingstoke. Find MOLA on LinkedIn.
