The International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (IIC) is a learned society and international professional membership society for conservation, promoting the care of cultural heritage for the common good. Founded in 1950 and based in London, it brings together conservators, conservation scientists and other cultural heritage professionals from more than 70 countries. IIC publishes the peer-reviewed journal Studies in Conservation and the magazine News in Conservation, runs biennial international Congresses and student and emerging conservator conferences, hosts special interest communities and regional groups, coordinates conservation standards and guidance, and recognises excellence through its Fellowship.
