The Ethics, Science, and the Public Project

The Ethics, Science, and the Public Project is a research and public-engagement initiative based in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. It develops and studies innovative methods of public engagement with the ethical and societal implications of discovery science, working across areas such as genetics, bioethics, and the public understanding of science. It was formerly the Kavli Centre for Ethics, Science, and the Public (KCESP), which ran from 2021 to 2026. Following the completion of its initial funded period, the Kavli Centre for Ethics, Science and the Public closed on 31 March 2026, and all projects will be completed by the end of 2027 within the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge.
