The Humanity & AI Research Group is a dynamic, collaborative, and flexible team based in the School of Law at the University of Aberdeen. It brings together experts from diverse disciplines to explore and address critical issues at the intersection of human experience and artificial intelligence. The group fosters interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary engagement, coordinating specialised expertise to produce outputs such as workshops, publications, and consultation responses. Its work is committed to shaping a future where AI is not only innovative and efficient but also ethically aligned with humanity's values and social norms. Members' research interests span digital avatars, neurotechnology, biometric data, intellectual property, criminal justice and AI, data protection, text and data mining, maritime AI navigation, regulation of AI, explainable AI, and human-computer interaction.
