Ferrater Mora Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics

Active

Description

The Ferrater Mora Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics is the first centre in the world dedicated to pioneering ethical perspectives on animals through academic research, teaching, and publication. An independent think tank for the advancement of progressive thought about animals, the Centre comprises an international fellowship of academics drawn from the humanities and the sciences, and aims to place ethical concern for animals on the intellectual agenda while contributing to informed public debate. Its programme areas include animal ethics and law, religion and animals, the ethics of animal experimentation, humane education, animals and public policy, and animals and media. The Centre runs an annual Oxford Animal Ethics Summer School, publishes the Journal of Animal Ethics with the University of Illinois Press, and edits the Palgrave Macmillan Animal Ethics book series.
