Description

The Bell Foundation is a charity that works to overcome exclusion through language education, partnering on innovation, research, training and practical interventions. Its stated vision is creating opportunity, changing lives and overcoming disadvantage through language education. By generating and applying evidence, the Foundation aims to change practice, policy and systems for children, adults and communities in the UK who are disadvantaged through language. Its work runs across English as an Additional Language (EAL) in UK schools, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) for post-16 learners and adults, and a Criminal Justice programme, alongside Language for Results International for international schools. The Foundation describes itself as independent and impartial with no political affiliations, and as authoritative and rigorous in presenting clear and balanced evidence.
