Description
ONCA was a Brighton-based arts and environmental charity that bridged social and environmental justice issues with creativity, operating from 2012 to 2024. The charity promoted positive change by facilitating inclusive spaces for creative learning, artist support, story-sharing and community solidarity. Through ONCA Gallery, it worked with artists, educators and organisations to co-deliver exhibitions, events and workshops exploring social and environmental issues. Its programme raised awareness of social and environmental issues through art across five strands (art for social change; arts, health and wellbeing; climate and culture; decolonising art and culture; and endangered and lost species) and facilitated education and development relating to art, culture and the environment through artist development, education for sustainability, environmental justice and activism, and social justice and solidarity.
