Platform London
ActiveDescription
Platform is a London-based organisation that combines art, activism, education and research to pursue social and ecological justice. It works to tackle the climate breakdown driven by extractive energy, food and financial systems by exposing who owns and controls those systems, mobilising impacted communities, and envisioning sustainable and socially just alternatives. Drawing on a 40-year history, its team of campaigners, researchers and artists works across the UK to transform the political, cultural and social conditions in which polluting industries operate, organised around five focus areas: community, energy, finance, culture and liberation. Founded in Cambridge in 1983 as a radical theatre group uniting art and politics, it has since created over 30 projects spanning street theatre, music, exhibitions, education courses, book projects and participatory campaigns, and operates through collective, consensus-based decision-making.
