British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL)

Description

The British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL) is a professional body and self-supporting membership association for information and knowledge professionals working with legal information across the UK and Ireland. Founded in 1969, it is a voluntary organisation with no salaried staff, run by and for its members and governed through its Committees and Council. It supports and represents legal information and knowledge professionals; provides a forum for members and for suppliers of legal information products via a Supplier Liaison Group; runs a bursaries programme; publishes the quarterly journal Legal Information Management; supports legal information initiatives such as BAILII and Flare and law-library development work in Sierra Leone; and recognises members through an annual awards programme.
