Race on the Agenda (ROTA)
ActiveDescription
Race on the Agenda (ROTA) is an anti-racist change organisation working with communities impacted by systemic racism to develop policies and practices that tackle inequality. Set up in 1984, the organisation supports and amplifies the work of anti-racist organisations across the country and focuses on issues affecting Black and Global Majority communities. Its work is informed by the lived experience of those communities, on the principle that those with direct experience of inequality should be central to addressing it. The organisation gathers evidence through desk research and original qualitative and quantitative fieldwork (interviews, questionnaires, focus groups), external networks, events and consultations, and partnership work, and influences decision-makers through research publications, policy briefings, e-newsletters, events, representation on policy forums, and responses to government consultations. ROTA is a membership organisation, registered as a charity and a company limited by guarantee.
