National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance (NCJAA)
ActiveDescription
The National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance is a network whose vision is to ensure the arts are used within the criminal justice system as a springboard for positive change. The Alliance promotes, develops and supports high-quality arts practice in criminal justice settings, and influences and informs government, commissioners and the public. It represents a large network of individuals and organisations delivering creative interventions to support people in prison, on probation and in the community, and provides a collective voice at policy level while developing evidence to make the case for the arts in prison, probation and community settings. It works by promoting arts organisations through its website, conferences and networking opportunities; building the evidence base through its online Evidence Library, research and events; supporting and informing policy through meetings, consultations and relationships with key influencers; developing practice through mentoring, conferences and good-practice case studies; and developing audiences through events, social media and engagement with national and sector press. It also carries out research and administers the Evidence Library, an online library of research and evaluation reports on the impact of the arts in criminal justice.
