Description

mySociety Research is the research team of mySociety, a UK-based registered charity that builds and deploys civic technology tools including TheyWorkForYou (parliamentary monitoring), WhatDoTheyKnow (freedom of information), and FixMyStreet (community issue reporting).

The research team uses data analysis, fieldwork, and user research to evaluate the impact of mySociety's services and those of the wider civic tech movement on government responsiveness and citizen engagement. Research themes include freedom of information, democracy and democratic participation, civic technology, climate action, and the application of AI technologies to democratic transparency. The team publishes reports, policy papers, blog posts, and user research, and convenes the annual TICTeC conference to bring together researchers and practitioners across civic technology internationally.
