Description

Connected by Data is a UK not-for-profit organisation that campaigns for communities to have a powerful say in decisions about data and artificial intelligence. Its mission is to put community at the centre of data narratives, practices, and policies by advocating for collective and open data governance.

The organisation works across sectors including education, health, justice, and the public sector, supporting communities, civil society organisations, and public bodies to embed participatory and democratic approaches to data and AI governance. Its activities include convening the Data and AI Civil Society Network, organising a Community of Practice for public engagement practitioners, working alongside grassroots community data campaigns, hosting global conversations on data and AI governance, producing policy publications and briefings, and running a fellowship programme.
