Land and Buildings Research Group
ActiveDescription
The Land and Buildings thematic cluster pioneers research and innovation into sustainable land use, resilient buildings, and regeneration. Its research agenda aligns fully with UK Government strategies, as well as regional and local authority priorities, responding to emerging needs such as the "brownfield first" agenda and flood resilience. The cluster fosters outward-facing industrial collaborations to address key focus areas, including brownfield remediation and nature recovery, the promotion of circular principles, and flood recovery through adaptation and retrofit. Additionally, it reviews building regulations and health and safety standards while addressing people-centric industry challenges such as stress and wellbeing.
