Description

This thematic group promotes automation, process improvements, and resource efficiency in construction projects. It consolidates digital research through several core areas which support industry demand for rigorous and relevant research. The group utilizes advanced tools and technologies (handheld, wearable, etc.) to scan buildings and create 3D spatial mapping and digital twins. It promotes techniques such as Discrete Event Simulation, BIM, AI, and Generative Design to simulate construction processes through design, manufacture, installation, and operation. Furthermore, the group supports companies, the construction industry, and its supply chain to improve resource efficiency and productivity while reducing waste, alongside the promotion and adaptation of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
