Avant-Garde Study Group

Description

The Avant-Garde Study Group is a forum for discussing the (historical) avant-garde (eg Expressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Vorticism, Constructivism, Dada, Surrealism, etc.). This list is not intended to be restrictive, and there are many other -isms which could be included, as well as less programmatic manifestations.

The group generally does close readings of primary texts in a range of media, against the backdrop of different theoretical formulations of the avant-garde, but other approaches are also welcome. The sessions are open to all, run collectively and shaped by the interests of the participants.
