Law and the Humanities Hub at IALS (LHub)

Description

LHub aims to foster academic expertise, creativity, and intellectual leadership in law and the humanities. It was launched with its 2024/25 Visitors, who joined the founding collective to imagine exciting futures for the field.

LHub offers opportunities for networking, research collaboration, and experimentation in creative methodologies and emerging topics of law and the humanities. It also extends support to scholars, acknowledging the challenges of interdisciplinarity. In this context, it has partnered with other organisations to found the Global Law and the Humanities Mentorship Programme for early-career scholars. It has also created a dedicated Law and the Humanities map in collaboration with the Mapping the Arts and Humanities Project, to showcase and promote the rich activity in the field.

Its activities include the Four Nations Law and the Humanities Forums for early-career scholars, a Research Networks Programme, research seminars and other events.

Taking an open collaborative approach, LHub welcomes contacts and ideas from scholars, creators, artists, practitioners, curators, educators, librarians, community leaders, institutions, and curious persons and groups, in and outside the UK, for projects at the many meeting points between law and the humanities, which may be promoted in collaboration with LHub.

LHub has created a digital Ideas Box, open for initiatives and contributions, and manages a mailing list for the law and the humanities community.
