Future of Work Programme

Description

The dawn of the 21st century has ushered in remarkable technological advancements. Elements such as smartphones and online shopping have profoundly reshaped everyday lives and exerted substantial impacts on professional environments.

Nonetheless, these alterations do not always yield positive outcomes, and the advantages are not uniformly distributed. With Citi's support, this programme aims to explore the ramifications of swiftly evolving technology for economies and societies.

The programme seeks to offer a comprehensive understanding of technology's role in economic transformation, thereby aiding leaders in successfully navigating novel work methodologies in the 21st century.

The programme aims to provide innovative and pertinent evidence concerning:

  • The ways in which technology is revolutionising businesses and sectors;
  • The reasons behind the varying adaptability of different regions to this transformation;
  • The associated consequences for living standards, inequality, and social mobility.

The Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Work forms part of a research collaboration between the Oxford Martin School and Citi, examining some of the most urgent global challenges of the 21st century. Alongside collaborative research, the Oxford Martin School and Citi are jointly publishing Citi Global Perspectives and Solutions (Citi GPS) reports, with a recent focus on the role of technology at work.
