The Manchester Centre for Gothic Studies

Description

The mission of the Manchester Centre for Gothic Studies is to promote the study of the Gothic both
nationally and internationally. Since its inception in 2013, MCGS has collaborated with prestigious
organisations such as the British Library, the British Film Institute, the BBC and English Heritage. Our
public engagement activities have included the citywide Gothic Manchester Festival, the HEIST
award-winning Haunt Manchester website and network, and the International Gothic Summer
School.

Our researchers work on four main areas of research:
• The History of Gothic Fiction, Poetry and Drama
