Design Driven Innovation Research Group (DDI)

Description

The Design Driven Innovation Research Group brings design practice to bear on the most pressing
challenges faced by our communities, businesses and social organisations. We take an inclusive and
participatory approach to the generation of novel interventions and solutions with clear routes to
impact. These innovative design outputs lead to positive and meaningful outcomes for their
identified beneficiaries.
Design Factory MCR is the Group’s innovation hub, comprised of design practitioners, researchers
and postgraduate students. It is the engine driving our mission to design locally-based sustainable
development with the potential to reach well beyond our city.

Our research areas:
• Participatory design innovation
• Socio-technical design innovation
• Designing sustainability
