[CPU]lab: Smart and Sustainable Future Cities

Description

The [CPU]lab uses a complexity framework to span interdisciplinary architectural and urban research
across natural, social and design science. Research is operationalised for design through the
development of new digital design tools, computational thinking and futures framing addressing
urban transformations. The lab is a founding member of Data and Cities as Complex Adaptive
Systems (DACAS) an international ESRC Strategic Network. CPU and DACAS are on
www.complexurban.com.
The [CPU]lab is made up of five thematic priority clusters, with groups of researchers primarily
working on:
• Design Studies
• Zero Carbon Future Cities
• Sustainable Smart Cities & IoT
• Emerging Technologies
