MAPS is situated at the intersection between migration studies and postcolonial studies, an
interdisciplinary space of urgent intellectual, political and cultural relevance. It aims to generate
innovative critical interventions by drawing together researchers in literary and cultural studies,
refugee and diaspora studies, and other specialist topic areas relating to the Global South.

MAPS is made up of four priority research clusters:
• Postcolonial Trauma and Testimony Studies
• Refugee Writng
• Climate Change Literature and the Global South
• Decolonising Comedy Studies
