Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Worlds

Description

Birkbeck’s Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Worlds was founded in 2019 to recognise a long-standing research strength. It brings together scholars across disciplines, creating a rich research community committed to the study of medieval and early modern cultures across the globe.

The Centre hosts a huge number of seminar series and other events and is also involved in organising events through the University of London and the Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts South-East England.

The Centre's members are a community of world-leading scholars, transforming their respective fields through research. The Centre disseminates its work in research-led teaching at all levels and, in particular, offers a portfolio of specialist taught Master of Arts which allow students to carve out a bespoke programme of study.
