Scottish Society for Northern Studies

Description

The Scottish Society for Northern Studies encourages and supports research on the interactions and influences of the Scandinavian, Celtic, and Scottish worlds – both within Scotland and further afield. As well as facilitating regular seminars, conferences, and publications, the Society offers a variety of bursaries to eligible students and scholars at any stage in their career, regardless of country of residence or institutional affiliation. Opportunities include grants for fieldwork, archive work, skills training, publication, as well as funding for conference organisation and attendance. In addition, an annual essay prize is awarded to an early career scholar.
