Periodicals and Print Culture Research Group

Description

The aim of this group is to bring together researchers in the developing field of periodicals and print culture, studying printed matter from the nineteenth century to the present day. We wish to foster interdisciplinary inquiry into material (including reviews, specialist commercial publications, little magazines, political pamphlets, small press publications, zines, and many other forms of print ephemera) ranging across the division between Victorian and modern periodical studies, and beyond the world of Anglophone print culture. We are interested in all issues relating to this material, including the editing and production of print matter, their material forms, their visual and verbal content, their circulation in the marketplace, and the many social, economic, and political dimensions to the production and consumption of periodicals and print culture.
