Arnold Bennett Society

Description

The Society was founded in 1954 in Stoke-on-Trent. The majority of the Society's members live in the UK, but we also have members in Australia, Turkey, Italy, India, Germany, America and Japan.

The Society’s object is to promote the study and appreciation of the life, works and times of Arnold Bennett. The Society also promotes other writers with links to North Staffordshire and established an annual Book Prize to this end in 2017, the 150th anniversary of Bennett’s birth. This same year a bronze statue was unveiled in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, on a special spot outside the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery.
