Association for German Studies in Great Britain and Ireland (AGS)
Description
The AGS was founded as the Conference of University Teachers of German in Great Britain and Ireland (CUTG) in 1932. In 2009 it became the Association for German Studies in Great Britain and Ireland.
An annual conference focuses on cutting-edge research in German Studies. New for 2020, the association offers grants for conferences and workshops. The AGS supports postgraduate scholars with its travel grants, and offers publication grants for early career researchers without institutional support. Intra-disciplinary discussions and communications (including job and funding opportunities) are enabled by the AGS-sponsored e-mail discussion list german-studies.
