Founded more than 45 years ago to address the issues of providing safe water and sanitation in low- and middle-income countries, the Water Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) has grown to face the common challenges of water engineering in both developed and developing countries, including water quality and security, water hazards and risk resilience, hydrodynamics, fluvial processes and catchment management.
