Description

The PMD Research Network, established in November 2020, unifies scholars globally with an interest in the life and music of Peter Maxwell Davies (1934–2016). It offers a platform for sharing research via seminars, lectures, study days, and online tutorial support. Its objectives are to centre research around Peter Maxwell Davies's life and music, increase interest in his works, foster global collaboration, and develop an online interactive community for researchers with shared interests.

CUBRIT promotes and advances the study of twentieth and twenty-first-century British art music nationally and internationally, aiming to broadcast its research excellence globally. It explores a vast range of composers, including Harrison Birtwistle, Peter Maxwell Davies, Michael Finnissy, Alun Hoddinott, Simon Holt, William Mathias, Michael Tippett, and Judith Weir. Its approach includes areas like archival, analytical, creative, and critical-theoretical perspectives on post-1900 concert music, interpretation, music and national identity, music theatre and opera, practice-based research studies, and sketch studies.

CUBRIT encourages research into any facet of British art music since 1900, fosters support for active researchers in this field, provides opportunities for knowledge sharing, and promotes international collaboration between musicologists and practice-based researchers.
