Centre for Linguistic History and Diversity

Description

The Centre for Linguistic History and Diversity, an international research establishment, was created to pioneer a consolidated, systematic approach to language diversity. This approach centres on three critical inquiries: the potential scope of language diversity within language systems' combinatoric aspects; the mechanisms for investigating language variation over time; and the historical lineage of the world's languages. Initial research commenced in January 2014 with collaborators from institutions including the University of Campinas, Brazil; the University of Pennsylvania, USA; and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy.
