Centre for Conservation Studies
Description
The Centre for Conservation Studies spearheads research, education, and training in cultural heritage conservation, catering to both students and professionals worldwide. Maintaining existing connections and establishing new ones with vital organisations and individuals involved in cultural heritage conservation and management is crucial to its operations.
The Centre is a key component of the University of York's Department of Archaeology. It provides the globally recognised Masters programmes in Buildings Archaeology and Conservation Studies, which have been in place for over four decades and are pioneers in the UK. These postgraduate programmes, an extension of the Institute of Advanced Architectural Studies' (IAAS) legacy, draw international students, researchers, and professionals. York is a global nexus for cultural heritage due to its forward-looking vision, multi-disciplinary methodology, and international stature in heritage conservation research and teaching.
Additionally, they offer short courses for continuing professional development throughout the year.
