Humanities Research Centre (HRC), University of Warwick
Description
The Humanities Research Centre was established in 1995 and replaced the European Humanities Centre which was established in 1985.
The proposal to establish the Centre confirmed the Faculty’s commitment to enhance both the strategic planning and the funding of its research; to raise the national and international profile of the humanities at Warwick, and to encourage research at all levels among faculty – from the youngest to the most senior members. It also sought to address the need for a Faculty-wide body to co-ordinate the promotion and development of research in the arts.
- We support interdisciplinary humanities conferences and symposia.
- We fund various interdisciplinary research seminars in the arts and humanities.
- Our Doctoral Fellowship programme allows PhD students to organise conferences in their area of research.
- We operate a Visiting Speakers' Fund for the faculty.
- We manage the Warwick PhD and Early Career Research Fellowships.
- We produce publications with Routledge and Anthem Press.
- We sponsor CSR membership to The Newberry Library.
