Global and Transnational History Group (GTHG)

Description

The Global and Transnational Group (GTHG) comprises historians undertaking research of wide geographical coverage, primarily in the modern era, and centred around two main themes. These themes signify both established and emergent research interests within the Department of Creative and Cultural Industries. The group is inclusive of departmental tutors, as well as doctoral and associate researchers.

The first theme is 'Transnational perspectives on people, places, and power'. This embraces diverse areas of research, investigating the aforementioned aspects from transnational viewpoints.

The second theme, 'Collective memory, imagined communities and public history', delves into several interconnected subjects. The focus is especially on historical issues associated with contemporary conflicts and their legacies.
