Digital Cultures and Economies Research Hub

Description

The Digital Cultures and Economies Research Hub explores digital media and communications in contemporary cultures and economies.

The hub's current research investigates four key themes:

  • Digital technologies and platforms and their use in contemporary societies; their implications for both existing and emergent creative and social practices, and forms of sociality and selfhood.
  • Digital media and transnational identities; media, mobility and migration; practices of marginalisation and their intersection with digital economies and cultural practices.
  • Emergent digital economies; the role of culture and communication in shaping new digital economies and economic imaginaries. Political economies and governance of digital communications, platforms and services.
