Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI

Description

The Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI emphasises the centrality of humans within AI, aiming to augment human capabilities and create a responsible and inclusive tool for societal benefit.

The University of Surrey, with endorsement from Her Majesty The Queen, formally announced the inception of this pan-university institute at a reception held at St James’s Palace, hosted by the Chancellor, His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent.

The Institute aspires to collaborate with the industry, public sector, government, and national AI entities to pioneer AI research, training, and innovation, with the objective of reinforcing UK leadership in the sphere of an AI-driven economy that upholds responsibility and inclusivity. They invite everyone to participate in this new era of People-Centred AI.
